Candesartan like other angiotensin II receptor antagonist doesnot inhib Candesartan cilexetil the breakdown of bradykinins, and thus doesnot appear to cause persistant dry cough which complecates ACE inhibitor therapy, therefore Candesartan cilexetil is a useful alternative for patients who have to discontinue an ACE inhibitor because of persistant cough.
