Cefuroxime is an antibiotic that helps in fighting bacteria in your body. It treats several bacterial infections; including severe or life-threatening forms. It also treats skin, middle ear infections, and tonsillitis. Additionally, it treats bronchitis, pneumonia, and throat infections.
How do I take this medicine?
Take Cefuroxime exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instruction on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Cefuroxime must be taken together with food or immediately after a meal.
This medicine is available as tablets or oral suspension.
If you are taking the tablets, swallow them whole. Do not divide, chew or crush the tablets.
Do not skip any doses. You must complete the entire course of antibiotic. If you don’t, the infection will not clear completely.
What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
